Welcome Aboard

Congratulations on your orders and welcome to Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Pacific! Recruiting duty is important and challenging, and I am sure you will find great personal satisfaction in contributing in a very real way to Navy's overall strength and effectiveness.

Pacific is one of the largest and most exciting recruiting districts in the country. We enlist nearly 2,600 men and women each year. We work hard, play hard and do it as a team! You'll soon come to find that Los Angeles cannot be matched in its ethnic and social diversity, and the weather is second to none. Whatever your off-duty interests are, you'll find them here or a short drive away.

Following NORU, you must report for administrative check-in to NTAG headquarters, located at 100 N. Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 950, El Segundo, Calif., 90245. Do not report to PSD Port Hueneme. As soon as you know the day you are going to check-in, call our Administrative Office at (310) 906-6268. When you arrive at the NTAG, report to the Administrative Office. Call in advance if you must report after working hours or on a weekend/holiday. These procedures will save you travel from Port Hueneme to Los Angeles more than once.

It takes at least 20 working days after reporting to the NTAG for PSD to liquidate your travel claim. Consider this when you decide whether or not to elect advance travel pay upon your transfer. Plan ahead for moving expenses. Los Angeles, like most metropolitan areas has a relatively high cost of living.

Supplemental insurance is recommended to help pay for costs beyond those covered by CHAMPUS/TRICARE for your dependents. Our command Health Advisor is LT MacKay and can be reached at (626) 607- 6195 or erwinjohn.f.mackay.mil@navy.mil.

If you have any questions or require additional assistance, please contact your sponsor. Additionally, the Command Master Chief, can be reached at (310) 956-9011 and is always available to assist you in any way.

If your sponsor has not already reached out to you, please contact our sponsor coordinator, YNC Mitchell at (310) 640-6100 x 225 or anthony.r.mitchell1.mil@us.navy.mil to be assigned a sponsor and receive the welcome aboard package. Please feel free to contact your sponsor with any specific questions and help in relocating to Los Angeles.

Once again, welcome to the NTAG Pacific family. Your new shipmates and I look forward to serving with you and stand ready to assist you in any way possible.

Sincerely,

Commanding Officer

Government Leased Housing
To allow for a smooth transition, requests for Government Leased Housing (GLH) should be submitted prior to your reporting onboard. The entire application process can be completed online by clicking here.

Family Readiness
Selected by the Commanding Officer, you Ombudsman is a spouse of a member of the command who voluntarily serves as an official liaison between the command and its families. As a spouse, it’s important to get acquainted with your local Ombudsman. The Ombudsman is not a counselor or a social worker, but can show you the direct route toward finding solutions by helping you get the assistance you need.
Contact our Ombudsman via email at NTAG_Pacific_Ombudsman@us.navy.mil
