NAVY RECRUITING RESERVE COMMAND (NRRC) COMMAND PHILOSOPHY
As Sailors, we belong to something much larger than ourselves. Our recruiters are part of a world-class Recruiting Force that enable the Navy’s future by achieving every mission, every day – without surge or burnout.
Winners Win is our cultural standard – we do NOT hope to do so, we expect to because of preparedness, discipline, execution with precision, and learned relentlessness! The principles outlined below reflect our Navy’s core values; they are my expectations for NRRC Sailors, and they will be our foundation for professional and personal success.
1. TREAT EACH OTHER WELL.
Provide the professional respect each member of our team is due; treat others as you would be treated including the future Navy Reserve Sailors we recruit. We are each other’s best advocates – help your shipmates understand when their actions are not consistent with our principles and standards. Teach, mentor, and develop one another. Be efficient, effective, communicate, and don’t waste each other’s time!
2. DO YOUR BEST TO DO THINGS RIGHT.
This is what it means to commit to personal excellence and is the foundation of the Recruiting Force. Own your job – know your job, accept responsibility, and take initiative to exceed our standards. Follow applicable guidance that directs your actions. Never stop learning or thinking. Understand when you don’t, or can’t, “do things right.”
3. BE HUMBLE AND COMPASSIONATE.
If you struggle to perform your duties successfully, ask for help from those more experienced; know your limits. Provide help to those who ask for it and be on the lookout for those not aware enough to ask. Always look for better ways to do things as good ideas can come from anyone. The Navy needs us to be able to self-reflect on our actions; if we don’t improve ourselves, problems we create will only compound.
We will succeed by following our principles and executing the fundamentals as a team. When the fundamentals are solid, the scoreboard will take care of itself and reflect our diligence. I am proud of your commitment to our Country and the Navy!
