Command Master Chief Timothy Whitaker is a native of Tarboro, North Carolina. He enlisted into the Army National Guard delayed entry program in November 1993 and graduated from North Edgecombe High School in June 1994.  He attended both Army Basic Training and Heavy Anti-Armor Weapons Infantry Training and served in the Army National Guard until August 1995.  He enlisted into the United States Navy in August 1995 and attended Recruit Training Command, Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois before reporting to Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology, San Diego, California, Dental Technician “A” School.  He later graduated from Field Medical Service School, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, earning his Field Medical Service Technician classification and Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego, California earning Dental Administrative Technician classification.  
 

Master Chief Whitaker’s sea duty assignments include:  NATO Role III, Kandahar, Afghanistan; I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit; 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, California, Combat Logistics Battalion 1; 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton, California, Combat Logistics Battalion 11; USS Trenton (LPD-14), Norfolk, Virginia; II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, Information Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
 

Master Chief Whitaker’s shore duty assignments include:  Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; U. S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan; Naval Branch Health Clinic Sasebo, Japan; Naval Dental Center, Okinawa, Japan; National Naval Dental Center, Bethesda, Maryland; Naval Hospital Pensacola, Florida.
 

He assumed his current position as Command Master Chief onboard Navy Talent Acquisition Group Pacific in November 2023.
 

Master Chief Whitaker earned his Bachelor of Science in Health Administration in 2021 and his Associate in Science Health Care Management in 2019.  He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 166 and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course Class 20020.
 

Command Master Chief Whitaker is a qualified Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist (GCE/LCE), Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (LHD/LPD), and the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist (LHD).  His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (six awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), Army Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Service Volunteer Medal (two awards), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary and Service Medals and various other campaign, unit and service awards.  He is the proud son of Gloria Whitaker of Whitakers, North Carolina and the late Ben Whitaker.  He is also the father of two children Tyheim Jayvon and Nalani Jasmil Whitaker.
