CNRC - Master Chief Navy Counselor Audrey A. Dopson born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1993 as a fireman apprentice and attended Recruit Training Command in Orlando, FL.​​​​​​​ For her first duty assignment she reported to the USS Merrimack in September 1993 as an undesignated fireman (striker). When eligible she struck the IC rating and was promoted to third class petty officer as an interior communications specialist (IC3). While aboard she completed two Mediterranean deployments and earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) qualification. Her enlistment had concluded upon completion of her tour in 1997 and IC3 transitioned into the Naval reserve redesignating to construction mechanic (CM) as a Seabee.
