Commander Davenport attended Officer Candidate School in Pensacola in 2001, after receiving her bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Her sea tours include USS Port Royal (CG 73) as the Communications Officer and Command Legal Officer, and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as the Reactor Electrical Division Officer.
Davenport’s shore assignments include duty as a student under instruction at Naval Nuclear Power School and Naval Nuclear Prototype Training Unit.
Following her assignment aboard CVN 71 in 2006, Commander Davenport spent 6 years away from naval service prior to joining the Reserve. During this time, she worked as an Engineer for Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, a Maintenance Supervisor for Otis Elevator and an Engineering Manager for Newport News Shipbuilding.
Her Reserve assignments include duty with Navy Reserve President, Board of Inspection and Survey Support Unit as a Craft and Auxiliary Inspector and Admin Department Head, and as a mobilized reservist at U.S. Fleet Forces Command as the Fleet Liaison Officer for GFM/IAMM Sourcing. During her mobilization, she applied for and was selected for redesignation into the Human Resources Training and Administration of the Reserve community.
Upon redesignation in 2017, she was assigned as the Personnel Services Officer for Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic prior to being selected to serve as the Enlisted Assignments Branch Head for Commander, Navy Reserve Forces Command in 2018. From April 2020 through January 2022, she served as the Officer-In-Charge at Navy Reserve Professional Development Center Detachment Norfolk. She briefly served as the Assistant Strength Planner prior to assuming duties in June 2022 as the Head Manpower Policy in the Office of the Chief of Navy Reserve (OPNAV N095). In May 2024, CDR Davenport transferred to REDCOM Norfolk where she assumed the duties of the Department Head for the N1 Personnel/Manpower Management department prior to taking over as the Chief Staff Officer in March 2025.
A native of Illinois, Commander Davenport holds a Masters Engineering Management from Old Dominion University and a Masters Business Administration from Benedictine University.
