Commander Ben “Biebs” Kroll was raised in Libby, Montana and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. After designation as a Naval Aviator, Commander Kroll served with Electronic Attack Squadron 140 (VAQ-140) flying the EA-6B Prowler in support of one deployment out of Aviano Air Base, Italy and two deployments aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). While deployed, Commander Kroll supported Operations Unified Protector and Enduring Freedom.
 

In 2015, Commander Kroll began his shore tour as a Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) instructor at Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129) flying the EA-18G Growler. Upon completion of his active duty service obligation in 2017, he redesignated as a Full Time Support (FTS) officer and reported to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 56 (VR-56) where he flew and instructed in the C-40A Clipper and served as both the Maintenance Department Head and Operations Department Head.
 

From 2021 to 2023, Commander Kroll served as Assistant Pillar Reserve Program Director (RPD) at US Fleet Forces Command, managing a $43.4M annual budget across 14 subordinate commands encompassing 13,500 Navy Reserve service members.
 

Commander Kroll has logged more than 2,300 hours in five different aircraft, accumulating 230 arrested landings. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (1st Strike/Flight award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards), Battle “E” (3 awards), and various campaign and service awards. He holds a Master’s Degree in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University. He was also named the 2017 Commander, Naval Air Force Pacific (CNAP) Landing Signals Officer (LSO) of the Year.
