Commander Jason E. Datinguinoo, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, graduated from the University of Northern Florida with a degree in Business Administration and earned his commission from the NROTC program. He also holds a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.

Afloat, his assignments included electrical officer and anti-submarine warfare Officer on USS McFaul (DDG 74) in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He later served as the assistant damage control assistant on USS Peleliu (LHA 5), deploying to the Arabian Gulf. For his first department head tour, he served as Chief Engineer on both USS Defender (MCM 2) and USS Chief (MCM 14) and as the damage control assistant on USS Green Bay (LPD 20). His second department head tour was on USS Independence (LCS 2) and USS Fort Worth (LCS 3) as LCS squadron 1, Mine Det. 1 Officer in Charge.

Ashore, he served as a Naval Science Instructor at the University of San Diego NROTC Unit. He was then the executive officer for Navy Reserve Center (NRC) Fort Worth, where he spearheaded the rapid mobilization of Reservists in response to COVID-19, and later served as commanding officer of NRC Lehigh Valley, guiding it through its disestablishment. He then reported to Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. 10th Fleet as Deputy Reserve Program Director, where he was a part of the inaugural Reserve Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer selection panel, and the Office of the Chief of Navy Reserve as Director, Reserve Flag Matters.

He assumed his current duties as Executive Officer for Navy Talent Acquisition Group Golden Gate in March 2026.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit citations and campaign medals.
