Commander Corky S. Maschke currently serves as the Executive Officer at NTAG Philadelphia. With over 16 years of experience in naval aviation, he has served in multiple leadership roles, excelling in operational, instructional, and aviation capacities to support U.S. Navy missions globally.
Raised in Ohio, Commander Maschke graduated from Mt. Gilead High School before attending The Ohio State University, where he majored in History. As part of his education, he participated in the Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program, graduating and commissioning as an officer in 2009.
Following his commission, Commander Maschke began his aviation training at Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida. After completing Aviation Preflight Indoctrination (API) and Primary Flight Training in Corpus Christi, Texas, he advanced to TH-57 Jet Ranger helicopter training and earned his Naval Aviator wings in 2011. His first operational assignment was with Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 70, where he supported Carrier Air Wing 8 (CVW-8) aboard USS
George H.W. Bush (CVN-77). He deployed to the 5th Fleet in 2014, accumulating over 1,000 flying hours in the MH-60R. Commander Maschke then transitioned to a shore tour as a TH-57 Instructor Pilot at HT-28, NAS Whiting Field, where he instructed and mentored over 15 aviators.
In 2018, Commander Maschke transferred to Japan, serving aboard
USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) at NS Yokosuka. During this time, he held positions as V-2 Division Branch Officer and V-5 Division Officer, supporting back-to-back six-month deployments and contributing to over 20 aircraft launches per recovery cycle. In 2019, he was selected for Operational Department Head training. He returned to NAS Jacksonville in 2020, rejoining HSM-70 to fly the MH-60R. During this tour, he served in several key roles, including Safety Officer, Training Officer, Detachment 1 Officer in Charge, and Operations Officer, while supporting CVW-8 and the USS
Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) during its early operational deployments.
Commander Maschke transferred in 2023 to Naval Air Facility Misawa, Japan, where he served as Air Operations Officer, flying the C-12 and accumulating over 3,000 total flying hours. In 2025, he filled a critical role during administrative change by serving as the Acting Executive Officer at NAF Misawa. Later that year, Commander Maschke executed his orders to NTAG Philadelphia, assuming the role of Executive Officer during the official Change of Command Ceremony December 2025.
Commander Maschke’s military decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), the Aviation Warfare Pin, the Unit Commendation Medal, and the Battle "E" Award (two awards).
