LCDR Chenault, a native of Fairborn, Ohio enlisted in the Navy in June 1991. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, Florida, she reported to Naval Hospital Corpsman “A” School, in Great Lakes, Illinois. Her first Duty Station was NRC Staten Island, Naval Base Staten Island, NY.
During her enlisted career she earned the following NEC’s: 9502 (Instructor), 8404 (Field Medical Corpsman) and 8432 (Preventive Medicine Technician). Her Operational/Sea Duty assignments were: USS Inchon, MCS-12 where she deployed in support of NATO Operations in Kosovo in 1999 and qualified to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare and Enlisted Aviation Warfare pins. Her final operational assignment was Navy Cargo Handling Battalion 1 deploying to Diego Garcia in 2001 and Kuwait in 2003 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. She was selected for Chief Petty Officer in 2002.
Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree she applied to and was selected for the Navy Medical In-service Procurement Program, and commissioned as an Ensign in the Medical Service Corps on 11 May 2007. She reported to Officer Indoctrination School in Newport RI, followed by Financial and Material Management Training Course, where she qualified as a Financial Manager. Her first assignment as a commissioned officer was 1
st Dental Battalion, Camp Pendleton as the Comptroller. She has completed tours of duty at Naval Hospital Bremerton as Deputy Comptroller, Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi as Comptroller/Director of Resource Management, Navy Medicine East /Medical Forces Atlantic as Regional Financial Auditor and Associate Comptroller. She reported to NTAG Ohio River Valley where she was assigned as Officer in Charge of Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Center, Columbus, Ohio, after a command reorganization she was assigned as Enlisted Programs Officer, and was selected to serve as the Executive Officer in October of 2022.
Her military education includes the Joint Professional Military Education Course from the Naval War College. A Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Christopher Newport University, and a Masters of Public Health from University of Massachusetts Amherst. Currently pursuing her PHD with the Navy War College.
LCDR Chenault’s military awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medal, four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Achievement Medals, four Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Defense Service Medal and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons.
