Master Chief Stanley is a native of Coeburn, Virginia and a 1993 graduate of Clintwood High School in Clintwood, Va. He entered the Navy through the Delayed Entry Program and arrived for basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. in November 1993.
After graduating boot camp, he attended Aviation Electronics Technician (AT) “A” School before reporting to the “Airwolves” of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Light (HSL) 40 in Mayport, Fla. During this tour, he was designated as a SH-60B Plane Captain and Collateral Duty Inspector. He then transferred and qualified Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative with the “Proud Warriors” of HSL 42 in Mayport. His subsequent sea tours include Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer for the “Easyriders” of HSL 37; Quality Assurance Supervisor and Maintenance Control Supervisor for the “Golden Eagles” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9; Maintenance Master Chief for the “Nightdippers” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 5; and Command Master Chief for the “Liberty Bells” of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 115.
His shore tours include Production Control Leading Petty Officer, AIMD Mayport; Maintenance Officer, Senior Enlisted Leader, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific Maintenance Unit El Centro; Wing Maintenance Officer/Maintenance Master Chief for Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 2; and Staff Senior Enlisted Leader for Commander, Naval Air Forces Pacific.
Master Chief Stanley reported to his current assignment as the Command Master Chief for Navy Talent Acquisition Group Richmond in December 2021.
He is a 2011 graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 162 and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Class 199. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (6), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3) and various unit awards. He is designated an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist.
