CAPT Jon Rigby is a native of Shallowater, Texas. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and was commissioned after attending Officer Candidate School in 1999. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.

CAPT Jon Rigby is a native of Shallowater, Texas. Additionally, he holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Physics from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
 
CAPT Rigby has served at sea as communications and electrical officer in USS De Wert (FFG-45); operations officer in USS Blackhawk (MHC-58); chief engineer in USS Carter Hall (LSD-50); lead diesel assessor in ATGLANT, Engineering Assessments Atlantic; navigator in USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7); Executive Officer and Commanding Officer in USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49).
 
His shore tours include attending Naval Post Graduate School at Monterey, CA; Commanding Officer of Naval Operational Support Center (NOSC) Amarillo, TX; N3 for COMNAVSURFPAC; attending the Naval War College in Newport, RI; Commanding Officer of NSF Deveselu, Romania; and the Deputy Commodore for Navy Recruiting Region East in Millington, TN. Currently, he is serving as the Commodore for Navy Recruiting Region East in Millington, TN.
 
His personal awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (with 1 gold star), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with 4 gold stars), Navy Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and various other personal and unit awards.
