Command Master Chief Gaddist is a native of Jersey City, NJ and a 1989 graduate of Kingstree Senior High School in Kingstree, SC. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy April of 1990, and completed basic recruit training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, Fl.

 

Master Chief Gaddist reported to his first assignment, USS Josephus Daniels (CG 27) stationed in Norfolk, Va. He returned to Orlando Fleet Training Center in 1992 to quartermaster "A" school then completed a 6-month deployment to the Mediterranean onboard USS Josephus Daniels for her final deployment.

 

Other sea tours include USS Kalamazoo (AOR 6), USS Portland (LSD 37), USS Kauffman (FFG 59), USS Laboon (DDG 58), USS Gonzalez (DDG 66), USS Normandy (CG 60) and USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) during this tour he was selected into the command master chief program.

 

Shore commands include: Magnetic Silencing Faculty Norfolk, VA, COMMANDER AMPHIBIOUS GROUP TWO Virginia Beach, VA, AFLOAT TRAINING GROUP Norfolk, VA, Navy Recruiting District Richmond and Navy Recruiting Region West. Master Chief Gaddist is a graduate of the senior enlisted academy class 149 (Brown), command master chief/chief of the boat course (Class 146) in Newport, RI and MCPON’s executive leader symposium for command master chiefs in San Diego, CA.

 

Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (five), Navy and Marine Achievement Medal (five) and various unit and campaign awards. Qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Air Warfare Specialist.

 

Master Chief Gaddist reported as command master chief of Navy Recruiting District Richmond in August of 2020.
