Commander McLeod is a native of Weymouth, MA. She graduated from The College of the Holy Cross, Class of 2005, and was commissioned as a surface warfare officer through the Naval reserve officer training corps upon graduation.


Following Holy Cross, Cmdr. McLeod reported to the USS Austin (LPD 4). She completed subsequent tours of duty on the USS Nashville (LPD 13), Mobile Security Squadron 4,
and Mobile Security Squadron 6, deploying four times to the Northern Arabian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. For her first shore duty, McLeod was a class officer and
instructor at Officer Training Command (OTC) Newport.


In 2010, Commander McLeod re-designated as a Navy human resource officer. Her first human resources tour was as operations officer at Navy Recruiting District, New York, managing all enlisted and officer recruiting goals. She completed her O-4 milestone tour as the workforce classifications department head at the Navy Manpower Analysis Center (NAVMAC), working closely with ready relevant learning and rating modernization efforts. Following NAVMAC, Cmdr. McLeod participated in the Secretary of the Navy tours with industry program where she worked at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as a member of the talent acquisitions team.


McLeod reported to her current command as the deputy branch head/HR detailer
(PERS 4421), in June of 2018. She was selected for promotion to the rank of commander
and is slated to be the next xo/co of Navy Talent Acquisition Group New England in 2021.


Commander McLeod has a Masters Degree in human resources and labor relations from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters Degree and in national security and strategic
studies from the U.S. Naval War College. She has completed Joint Professional Military
Education Phase I and maintains a senior professional in human resources (SPHR)
certificate.


Her personal awards include three Navy Commendations Medals and five Navy Achievement
