Commander Jeremy Watkins commands Navy Talent Acquisition Group New England in Boston.


A career surface warfare officer, he served the Navy around the world. At sea, he completed division officer tours as a plankowner aboard USS Chafee (DDG 90). As a department head, he was assigned to USS Arleigh Burke (DDG 51) as operations officer and then to Destroyer Squadron 31 as operations officer (N3) and chief staff officer. Most recently, he led USS Antietam (CG 54) as the executive officer while forward deployed from Yokosuka, Japan.


Ashore, Cmdr. Watkins served as the speechwriter for Admiral Harry B. Harris Jr., Commander, U.S. Pacific Command, as a director fellow to Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group XXIX, as the current operations officer for Navy Region Southwest Asia in Manama, Bahrain, and as the maritime plans officer for Joint Special Operations Task Force – Philippines.


Watkins graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in political science in 2003. He earned an Master of Arts in security studies (Western Hemisphere) from the Naval Postgraduate School in 2009. He studied as the Navy’s Arthur S. Moreau Scholar from 2014-2016 at The Fletcher School, Tufts University.


His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
