Command Master Chief Jeff Hineman is a native of Lithia Springs, Georgia, and a 1993 graduate of Lithia Springs High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in November 1999 and completed Basic Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois and Operations Specialist “A” School in Dam Neck, Virginia.
Master Chief Hineman was selected for the Command Chief program in 2015. His CMC tours include: USS BARRY (DDG 52), USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), and U.S. Seventh Fleet Staff; all forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. Master Chief Hineman’s previous sea duty assignments were on board USS BUNKER HILL (CG 52), homeported in San Diego, California and USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72), homeported in Everett, Washington.
Master Chief Hineman’s shipboard deployments have all been to the 7th Fleet and 5th Fleet areas of responsibility, supporting Operations UNIFIED ASSISTANCE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
Master Chief Hineman’s shore tours include Navy Recruiting District Seattle, Washington as a Recruiter, Recruiter-in-Charge, and Zone Supervisor. Additionally he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader at Afloat Training Group Western Pacific in Yokosuka, Japan.
Master Chief Hineman is a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 187) and the CMC/COB Course (Class 150). He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Trident University and is the recipient of the 2011 John C. Stennis Leadership Award. His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
