Senior Chief Fitzmaurice is a native of St. Joseph, Missouri. He graduated from Benton High School in 1991 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April 1996, completing recruit training and seamanship apprentice school in Great Lakes, Illinois. In August 1996, he reported to USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), deploying twice in support of Operation Desert Shield. During this tour, he was promoted to Petty Officer Third and Second Class, earning several awards and accolades to include his Enlisted Surface Warfare qualification.

In 1999, he reported to Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit (NORU) in Pensacola, Florida for training and follow-on assignment to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) St. Louis. During this tour, he served as recruiter-in-charge and was advanced to Petty Officer First Class.

In 2004, he was selected to convert to the Career Recruiting Force (CRF). After converting, he transferred to NRD Kansas City, assuming the duties as recruiter-in-charge of Navy Recruiting Station Joplin, Missouri.

In 2007, he transferred to NRD Denver where he was selected to Chief Petty Officer and served as the zone supervisor, where his division experienced a high level of success under his leadership, receiving the following accolades: Division Leading Chief Petty Officer of the Year, Recruiter of the Year, Rookie Recruiter of the Year, NSO/NSW Recruiter of the Year, and NROTC Recruiter of the Year. The Division earned a host of advancements to include five chief petty Officers, 11 first class petty officers, and had a high number of conversions to CRF.

In 2011, he transferred to NRD Phoenix where he served as both zone supervisor and command trainer. His ability to build a team and meet production requirements earned his team Division of the Year in 2012.

In 2014, he transferred to NORU where he served as a master training specialist instructor for the CRF course, prospective executive officer course, marketing and advertising officer course, and was the command’s master valor trainer.

In 2018, he transferred to Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Great Lakes as the assistant chief recruiter, qualifying as chief recruiter in 2021.

In July 2022, he assumed duties as chief recruiter of NTAG Mid America.

Senior Chief Fitzmaurice holds a Bachelor of Science in Leadership Interdisciplinary Studies from Trident University. He also graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy in June 2021. His personal decorations include four Navy Commendation Medal, five Navy Achievement Medals, and a host of unit, service, campaign ribbons, and medals.
