Master Chief Mark P. Bloomfield is a native of Findlay, Ohio. He graduated from Findlay High School in 1995. Immediately upon graduation, he shipped out the next day to Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois, and attended Operation Specialist “A” school in Dam Neck, Virginia.

 

Bloomfield then reported to his initial command, Pre-Commissioning Unit Cole in December 1995, located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. He is a plank owner and completed the maiden voyage aboard USS Cole (DDG 67) where he worked in OI Division from December 1995 to June 2000 and was advanced to Petty Officer Second Class.

 

In October 2000, he reported to Navy Reserve Recruiting Area Central and was stationed at Navy & Marine Corps Reserve Station Toledo, Ohio, where he was assigned as a recruiter from October 2000 to October 2004. During his time with Area Central, he received numerous awards for excellence in recruiting and was advanced to First Class Petty Officer.

 

He was then assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Ohio and ran an active duty recruiting office in Findlay, Ohio, and qualified as recruiter-in-charge and zone supervisor. In his first year, he led his station to be recognized as the most improved station for Fiscal Year 2005.

 

Upon transfer from NRD Ohio, he reported to Career Recruiting Force Academy, located in Pensacola, Florida, in April 2007. After graduation, he transferred to NRD Raleigh for duties as recruiter-in-charge and was advanced to Chief Petty Officer and later assigned as a supervisor for the west side of North Carolina from June 2007 to June 2010.

 

Following his tour at NRD Raleigh, he reported to NRD Michigan for duties as division leading chief petty officer from July 2010 to July 2013. He earned numerous awards and honors while assigned to NRD Michigan.

 

He then reported to NRD Richmond as the command trainer where he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer. He reported to NRD Raleigh in April 2017 as the assistant chief recruiter and was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in April 2019 where he was eventually slated to be the chief recruiter at Navy Talent Acquisition Group Mid America and reported in August 2020.

 

His personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), along with various unit and service awards, and has a bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration.

 

Master Chief Bloomfield is married to the former Shari A. Bleile of Findlay, Ohio, and they currently reside at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. They have one son, Chase, who is serving in the U.S. Navy and assigned as a recruiter at NTAG Carolina and they have one daughter, Ella, who is currently a senior at Mascoutah High School, Illinois.
