Master Chief Navy Counselor Audrey A. Dopson born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1993 as a fireman apprentice and attended Recruit Training Command in Orlando, FL.
For her first duty assignment she reported to the USS Merrimack in September 1993 as an undesignated fireman (striker). When eligible she struck the IC rating and was promoted to third class petty officer as an interior communications specialist (IC3). While aboard she completed two Mediterranean deployments and earned her Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist (ESWS) qualification. Her enlistment had concluded upon completion of her tour in 1997 and IC3 transitioned into the Naval reserve redesignating to construction mechanic (CM) as a Seabee.
She was recalled to active duty in 2003 as a canvasser recruiter (CANREC) assigned to Navy Recruiting Area Southeast. During this tour Petty Officer Second Class Dopson qualified as a recruiter and leading petty officer (LPO). Shortly after reporting CM2 Dopson aided in the transition from then Navy Recruiting Area Southeast to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Miami where she was selected to be the LPO of an active duty office Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) Plantation. Her success led to her selection for conversion to career recruiting force (CRF) management and promotion to the rank of first class petty officer.
NC1 Dopson transferred to NRD Philadelphia in 2009 where she filled the role of leading petty officer of NRS Woodbury. As a hot running NC1 she earned her divisional leading chief petty officer (DLCPO) qualification and assumed the duties as division four leading petty officer, a billet reserved for chief petty officers (CPO). In 2011, out of a group of steep competition she was selected to the rank of chief petty officer. She successfully completed her DLCPO tour at NRD Philadelphia where she led two divisions until her transfer.
NCC Dopson checked into NRD Jacksonville where she served as the Division Six DLCPO. She earned the accolades of FY15 DLCPO of the year and moved on to win Region East inspirational leadership award and the FY15 Region East Division DLCPO of the year. In 2018 NCCS transferred to NRD Miami as the assistant chief recruiter where they were awarded the FY18 Region East district of the year and on the Gold “R” as Navy Recruiting Command District of the Nation.
