Master Chief Johnson was born on June 10, 1973. He is a native of Phoenix, Arizona. Upon graduating from Trevor G. Brown High School in 1992, he worked several odd jobs until he enlisted in the Navy in 1994. He has attended several Navy technical schools, is a graduate of the Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy, CMC/COB Course, Keystone Course and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland College. 


Master Chief Johnson has been stationed at numerous duty stations in myriad positions of increased responsibility. His duty stations include USS PENSACOLA (LSD-38), Little Creek, VA. as a Deck Seaman subsequently striking for the Ships Serviceman rating; USS SAIPAN(LHA-2), Norfolk, VA. as a Cash Collection agent, barber and records keeper; Commander Navy Region Security Department, Pearl Harbor, HI where he converted to the Master-at-Arms rating and served as a Patrolman; Naval Support Activity Bahrain, as a Physical Security Supervisor and Access Control Leading Petty Officer; Naval Support Activity, Naples Italy, as the Precinct Leading Chief; USS ESSEX (LHD-2), Sasebo Japan, as the Security Department Leading Chief; Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo, as the Security Department Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Installation Command Senior Enlisted Leader; Commander Navy Region Japan, Yokosuka Japan as the Region Japan Small Arms Training Manager and Staff Senior Enlisted Leader; Strike Fighter Squadron Two Seven, Atsugi Japan as the Command Master Chief; Naval Support Activity Bahrain as the Command Master Chief; USS WASP(LHD-1), Sasebo Japan as the Command Master Chief; Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo as the Command Master Chief.  Master Chief Johnson is currently serving as Navy Talent Acquisition Group Command Master Chief.


Master Chief Johnson’s personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (3 Awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards).
