Selected for Early Command, CDR Barnes reported to USS SENTRY (MCM 3), first serving as Executive Officer from February 2020 to April 2021 before assuming Command from June 2021 to October 2022. As Commanding Officer, he led USS SENTRY to exceptional operational success, including the longest MCM underway transit in over a decade and successful implementation of emerging TTPs during FIFTH Fleet operations.
