Cmdr. Sean Harrington is a native of Lynn, Massachusetts, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in systems engineering. He was designated a Naval Aviator in November 2007 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Florida, and completed initial fleet replacement training flying the MH-60R Seahawk at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 in San Diego, CA. He holds master's degrees in engineering and operations management both from the University of Arkansas.

Cmdr. Sean Harrington is a native of Lynn, Massachusetts, and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in systems engineering. He was designated a Naval Aviator in November 2007 at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, Florida, and completed initial fleet replacement training flying the MH-60R Seahawk at Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 41 in San Diego, CA. He holds master's degrees in engineering and operations management both from the University of Arkansas.
 

After completing Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) training, Harrington reported to his first sea tour with the "Spartans" of HSM-70 in October 2008, based at NAS Jacksonville. As a squadron plank owner, Harrington was the initial first tour east coast HSM pilot assisting in the establishment and standup of the squadron. He deployed aboard USS Robert G. Bradley (FFG 49) in 2010 in support of NATO ASW training. Additionally, he deployed aboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom in 2011. While assigned to HSM-70, Harrington was awarded as the 2011 Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic Pilot of the Year.

In December 2011, Harrington reported to HSM-40 in Mayport, FL and served as a FRS instructor pilot until August 2014. While aboard, he graduated from the Navy’s Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor (SWTI) course in November 2012. He served as the Airborne Tactical Phase Officer and Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor (SWTI).
 

In August of 2014, he reported to HSM-70 serving as the Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor (SWTI). During this tour, he deployed onboard USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

In June 2016, Harrington was selected to Full-time Support (FTS) and assigned to the Jaguars of HSM-60 at NAS Jacksonville for sea duty. His roles included squadron Seahawk Weapons and Tactics Instructor (SWTI), Training Officer, and Operations Officer. He deployed onboard USS Gravely (DDG 107) in support of national tasking in July 2018.
 

From June 2019 to July 2021, Harrington was assigned to U.S. Special Operations command (USSOCOM) at MacDill AFB, FL. While assigned, he served as Air Operations (J31) Maritime Rotary Wing SME and Global Mission Support Center (J33-GMSC) Chief of Operations.
 

From July 2021 to July 2022, he was assigned to the Operations department at Command Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic (CHSMWL). His current assignment is as Executive Officer at Navy Talent Acquisition Group Red River in Dallas, Texas.

As of 2024 - His current assignment is as Commanding Officer at Navy Talent Acquisition Group Red River in Dallas, Texas.
 

Harrington has accumulated over 2,200 hours in the MH-60R, TH-57, and T-34C. His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, as well as other campaign and unit awards.
