Cmdr. Bryan Koehler is a native of Florida and received his commission in 2002 from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in economics.

 

At sea, his assignments include 1st Lt. and electrical officer in USS Robert G Bradley (FFG 49), training officer in USS Cleveland (LPD 7), weapons officer and combat systems officer in USS Russell (DDG 59), and executive officer in USS Milwaukee (LCS 5).

 

Ashore, Commander Koehler served as fleet support officer in Navy Air and Missile Defense Command (NAMDC) in Dahlgren, VA. He was assigned to the Plans and Policy (J5) Directorate of United States Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska where he served as an analyst and action officer in the strategic engagement division and later as the executive assistant to both military and civilian J5 deputy directors. Additionally, he served as chief staff officer in Naval Surface Squadron Fourteen in Mayport, FL. Most recently he served as executive officer at NTAG Red River.

 

Koehler also earned a Master of Science in systems engineering analysis from the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA.

 

His awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
