A native of Easton, Connecticut, Commander Greenberg graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in Archaeology. He was commissioned from OCS in 2009.
A career surface warfare officer, Commander Greenberg’s shipboard assignments include: USS CARTER HALL (LSD-50) as Electrical and Main Machinery Officer, USS MCFAUL (DDG-74) as Navigator, and USS COLE (DDG-67) as Chief Engineer. He recently completed his
Executive Officer tour onboard USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan.
Ashore, he served as an instructor at Surface Warfare Officers School Command in Newport, Rhode Island. Commander Greenberg served as the OPNAV N1 Training Section Head for Chief of Naval Personnel as well as the Branch Head for Fleet Readiness Assessment for OPNAV N83. During his time ashore, Commander Greenberg received his M.A. in Far East Asia National Security Studies at Naval Postgraduate School. He currently serves as the Executive Officer of Navy Talent Acquisition Group Portland, OR.
He has deployed to the 5th, 6th and 7th fleets throughout his career. His personal decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy Achievement Medal (three awards), and various unit campaign, and service awards.
