Senior Chief Navy Counselor Christopher Blake is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana.  After attending Grambling State University for two years, he decided that he needed more discipline and structure in his life, so he started looking into the Armed Forces, following in his father’s footsteps.
September 5, 1997 he reported to Recruit Training Command (RTC) Great Lakes, IL.  Upon graduating RTC he attended Airmen Apprenticeship Training School (ATD) for three weeks and received orders to VF-2 “Bounty Hunters” at NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, VA.  After only 12 months onboard VF-2, he struck Aerographer’s Mate (AG), and in June of 1999 he was selected and advanced to Petty Officer Third Class.
Immediately after advancing to AG3, he received orders to Naval Atlantic Meteorology and Oceanography Center (NLMOC) Norfolk, VA, where he served as Duty Observer.  While stationed at Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) he advanced to Second Class Petty Officer and worked hard to earn the opportunity to attend Aerographer’s Mate C-school at Kessler AFB, Biloxi, MS.  Upon completion of C- School, he received orders to COMSEVENTHFLT (forward deployed), embarked on USS BLUE RIDGE, Yokosuka Japan.  From 2002 to 2004, he served on staff duty as Division Leading Petty Officer (LPO), and Forecaster Duty Officer (FDO) while participating in JTF 515 operations, and exercises ULCHI FOCUS LENS, TANDEM THRUST AND TERMINAL FURY.
His next assignment was METOC Center Manama, Bahrain where he served as Command Duty Officer (CDO) and FDO in support of U.S. and coalition naval force engaged in Operations IRAQI/ ENDURING FREEDOM (OIF/OEF) and the global War on Terrorism (GWOT) from October 2004 to January 2006.  He set himself apart from his peers and advanced to AG1 during this tour.
In January 2006, he reported to ENRO Pensacola, FL en route to NRD Dallas where he began his first tour as a recruiter.  After just 12 months onboard, he was hand-picked to lead Navy Recruiting Station (NRS) South Oklahoma City as the Recruiter in Charge (RINC).  In 2008, he converted to Navy Counselor and attended CRF Academy from March to April of 2010.  Following CRF academy, now NC1 Blake reported to NRD Ohio in May 2010 and served as RINC of NRS East Cleveland and later NRS Lakewood.  In 2012, he was designated as Division Leading Chief Petty Officer (DLCPO) and promoted to Chief Petty Officer.  He successfully completed his tour at NRD Ohio in June of 2013.
NCC reported to NRD New York where he served as DLCPO for New Jersey division and New York METRO division from July 2013 to August 2017.  He was advanced to NCCS in 2016, and shortly after, he was slated as Assistant Chief Recruiter (ACR) for NRD Michigan.  NCCS completed a successful tour at NRD Michigan and completed his Chief Recruiter qualification during his time onboard.  He is currently serving at NTAG Phoenix as the Chief Recruiter.
