Master Chief Lauko, a Phoenix native, enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1998.  Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois he reported to Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois where he completed advanced technical core and fire controlman "A" school. Following completion of "A" School he reported to Naval Training Center, San Diego, California where he completed close In weapon system "C" School.

Upon graduation, he reported for duty with USS Dubuque (LPD-8). Upon completion of his tour on USS Dubuque he then transferred to NRD San Diego where he converted to the rate of navy career counselor. His shore assignments include NRD Phoenix, NRD Portland, NRD St Louis, NRC Region West and NTAG Phoenix.

Master Chief Lauko is currently serving as the chief recruiter at NTAG Phoenix. In addition, Master Chief Lauko has earned his surface warfare designation, zone supervisor qualification,  assistant chief recruiter qualification and chief recruiter.

His decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (5 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
