Command Master Chief Petty Officer, CMDCM Carter H. Hollingsworth is a native of Dana, IN. He graduated from North Vermillion High School in 1993 and joined the United States Navy in January 1997. Following basic training at Navy Recruit Training Command Great Lakes in Illinois, he attended Advanced Electronics Computer Field “A” school. Upon graduation of “C” school, he reported for duty to USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53), then homeported in San Diego, CA.  Initially assigned as a communications technician he quickly promoted to Work Center Supervisor and Leading Petty Officer. He completed two Western Pacific deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

 

Ashore, CMDCM Hollingsworth was stationed at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base, Willow Grove, PA., from October 2002 to April 2006. He served as the Ground Electronics Maintenance Division Leading Petty Officer, and was selected as the 2004 Atlantic Fleet Shore Electronics Technician of the Year and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer in 2006.

 

In 2006 he returned to sea-duty assigned to USS DE WERT (FFG 45) in Mayport, FL., as the Combat Electronics Division Leading Chief Petty Officer. He completed two Counter Narco-terrorism deployments to Central and South America seizing over 20 metric tons of cocaine and 30 traffickers and a third to the Horn of Africa to police Somali pirates.

 

In 2010 he was assigned as the N6 Communications Department LCPO at Naval Special Warfare Group 3 Headquarters Det HI/ SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, Pearl City, HI. He helped to stand up NSW Logistics Support Unit Three, and supported multiple world-wide missions.

 

In August of 2013 he was assigned to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Naples, Italy, and assumed duties as the N6 Department LCPO, Command Fitness Leader and 3M Coordinator. He was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2016.

 

In August 2016 he was assigned to USS CHUNG HOON (DDG 93) in Pearl Harbor, HI., where he assumed duties as the Combat Systems Department LCPO and as the Senior Enlisted Watchbill Coordinator. He helped to complete a major overhaul/dry-docking availability and a Western Pacific deployment.

 

In October 2019 he returned to the mainland assigned to Naval Base Ventura County, Pt Mugu, CA., where he assumed duties as the Ground Electronics Maintenance Officer. Following his promotion to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer, he assumed duties as the base Operations Department LCPO. The Navy then selected him to serve as a Command Master Chief (CMDCM) and received follow-on orders to Naval Talent Acquisition Group, Northern Plains, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN.

 

CMDCM Hollingsworth is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 240) and Command Master Chief/ Chief of the Boat Capstone (Class 21080).

 

His personal decorations include five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various unit citations. Additionally, he is authorized to wear the Enlisted Information and Surface Warfare Specialist designations.
