Senior Chief Jesson D. Anderson was born in Groesbeck, Texas and graduated from Groesbeck High School. He enlisted in the Navy after high school in 2000, and then completed recruit training in Great Lakes, IL and graduated from Engineman “A” school. He reported to his initial command, USS Cape St George in September 2000 located at Naval Base Norfolk, VA and qualified as a hydraulic tech and work center supervisor. In 2004, he was meritoriously advanced to Engineman Second Class under the Command Advancement Program (CAP).


Senior Chief Anderson then transferred to Fleet Composite Squadron Six (VC-6) where he qualified mission commander and small boat coxswain. Following this tour, he transferred to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) Ohio and began his journey in Navy recruiting.


At NRD Ohio, Senior Chief Anderson was assigned to Navy Recruiting Station Findlay, Ohio where he excelled as a recruiter. He qualified as recruiter-in-charge (RINC) of a station, was meritoriously promoted to petty officer first class via the Recruiting Command Advancement Program, and was also converted to the Navy’s career recruiting force.


Senior Chief Anderson then reported to NRD Pittsburgh in 2010. During this tour, he qualified as division leading chief petty officer (DLCPO) and was assigned as the DLCPO for the Rochester, N.Y. division. He was selected to Chief in 2012. Following his tour at NRD Pittsburgh, he reported to NRD San Diego for duties as DLCPO for the greater San Diego area. In 2016, he reported back to NRD Ohio as the DLCPO of the Columbus, Ohio area, and was selected to Senior Chief. He qualified assistant chief recruiter in 2017, and was promoted to assistant chief recruiter of NRD Ohio from December, 2017 to October 2020.
Senior Chief Anderson then qualified as a chief recruiter and was assigned as the Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Ohio River Valley Chief Recruiter in May 2021.


He reported to NTAG Great Lakes in January 2022 and is currently assigned as the Chief Recruiter.


He is married to former Julie Ann Faulds of East Lansing MI, and they have 8 children. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation medal (four awards); Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four); and various service and campaign awards.
