A native of Bartlesville, OK, Commander Rolfs is a 2004 graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and his Commission. In 2016, he earned a Masters of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College. Afloat, CDR Rolfs most recently served as the Executive Officer aboard USS Wichita (LCS 13), completing the
ship’s maiden deployment to C4F. CDR Rolfs’ Division Officer tours include assignments as Communications Officer and Navigator aboard USS McClusky (FFG 41), homeported in San Diego, CA where he completed two counter narcotics deployments to U.S. 4th Fleet.

He served as Operations Officer during his initial Department Head tour aboard USS The Sullivans (DDG 68), homeported in Mayport, FL where he completed a U.S. 6th Fleet BMD deployment and took the ship through aggressive and compressed basic and advanced phases. His following Department Head tour, he served as Operations Officer (N3/N5) in COMDESRON 31, Pearl Harbor, HI, coordinating Zulu operations for various Joint and multi-national exercises to include RIMPAC 2014 and Operation Keen Sword. Ashore, he served as Officer in Charge of the Basic Sail Training program at the United States Naval Academy. In his most recent shore assignment, he served as the USW Lead Instructor and ADOC Maritime Warfare Lead at the Surface Warfare Officer’s School in Newport, RI. He resides in Park Ridge, Illinois with his wife, Lindsey, and is the proud father of Parker and Mina.

Commander Rolfs’ military awards include the Navy Commendation Medal (Five), the Navy Achievement Medal (Two), Battle Effectiveness (Two), and various unit and service awards. Additionally, he was awarded the 2006 3rd Fleet Surface Line Week Shiphandler for the FFG/MCM Class.
