Dr. Kevin Sullivan entered the Navy in January 1986 and was trained as a communications operator (radioman). This was followed by tours onboard USS Independence (CV-62) and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station San Diego, California.

Dr. Kevin Sullivan entered the Navy in January 1986 and was trained as a communications operator (radioman). This was followed by tours onboard USS Independence (CV-62) and Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station San Diego, California. In 1993 while serving as staff communications leading petty officer in Commander, Cruiser Destroyer Group Five, he deployed to the Western Pacific/Indian Ocean region with USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) Battlegroup. September of 1993 he was promoted to chief petty officer and reassigned to USS Rushmore (LSD 47) as communications leading chief petty officer.

 

Dr. Sullivan was commissioned via the Limited Duty Officer Program (6190/Surface Communicator) in October 1995. After completing officer indoctrination school in Pensacola, Florida, he reported to USCINCPAC Camp Smith Hawaii as a staff action officer, joint C4I planner, and Pacific Theater C4ISR coordination center watch officer. He worked joint and combined exercises in Australia, Japan, and Thailand. He also served as project officer for the design and testing of the CINC’s Mobile C4I Command Center. In December of 1999 Dr. Sullivan reported to USS Inchon (MCS-12) as combat systems principal assistant and communications officer. He reported to HQ Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic in October of 2001 where he served as Officer-in-Charge of NATO Communications Unit Norfolk. In May of 2002 Dr. Sullivan was selected for redesignation as an information professional (1600). He reported onboard Commander, Navy Recruiting Command in March 2003. Retiring from the Navy in January 2007 he accepted the government service position of Director Information Technology in Navy Recruiting Command, Millington, TN, and in January 2019 Dr. Sullivan was promoted to be the Deputy Commander / Executive Director of Navy Recruiting Command.

 

He earned a Baccalaureate Degree in business management with University of Phoenix and a Master Degree in computer resource and information management with Webster University. Dr. Sullivan earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Northcentral University in May 2018.

 

His military decorations include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, (2) Navy Commendation Medals, and (3) Navy Achievement Medals. He qualified as a Surface Warfare Officer, Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist.
