Master Chief Valdovinos, a native of San Diego, Calif., enlisted in the United States Navy under the delayed entry program in December 1996 and completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL.

 

His first assignment was aboard USS Constitution in Charlestown, MA. Other fleet assignments include USS Oldendorf (DD 972), USS Fletcher (DD 992), and USS Freedom (LCS 1).

 

Master Chief Valdovinos completed a shore duty assignment at Navy Recruiting District San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas, serving as the marketing and advertising officer in addition to the senior enlisted leader as a command senior chief. Additionally, he was forward deployed to Comalapa, El Salvador in support of Cooperative Security Location (CSL).

 

Master Chief Valdovinos is a graduate of the senior enlisted academy, class 189 (Green), the CMC/COB capstone course, class 148.

 

He previously served as the command master chief of USS Boxer (LHD 4) homeported in San Diego.

 

Master Chief Valdovinos is currently assigned as the command master chief of Navy Talent Acquisition Group San Antonio.
 
His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), and other various unit and campaign awards.
