Command Information

Welcome Aboard!

Welcome aboard and thank you for selecting orders to NRD Phoenix! Recruiting our reliefs is an enormous responsibility. For over 242 years the United States Navy has provided our nations citizens with a tool so powerful, so lethal, and so overwhelmingly devastating that no enemy “EVER”, has walked away from a fight without feeling the fighting spirit of the United States Navy. Continuing that legacy requires total commitment to Sailor recruitment and development. Thank you for volunteering your leadership in the increasingly difficult, and mission critical assignment, of selecting our future fighting force. I fully recognize that there are many other paths a Sailor can take when selecting orders. Sailors do not come here to work in their comfort zones and do “easy”. They can do that on staff duty in a fleet concentration area. They come here to do hard, to do uncomfortable, and continuously improve themselves and our Navy. Your loyalty to our Naval legacy, and willing acceptance of this challenge, speaks to your character and commitment to the defense of our nation. Again, thank you!

If your family requires assistance or has any questions, you can contact the Command Ombudsman at (602)819-6030 or email nrdphoenix.ombudsman1@gmail.com

All personnel who are reporting to recruiting/support duty are eligible for the family/bachelor leased housing program.  To be eligible a member must: (1) Have out-of-pocket housing expenses exceeding his/her bah rate by 108%, and (2) be located in a remote location that has a commute greater than one hour from military base housing.  If located within less than a one hour commute, a statement of non-availability from the housing office must be provided specifying a wait of greater than twelve months for available base housing.  Information about these programs can be found in COMNAVCRUITCOMINST 11101.2 or at HTTPS://RFMISLGH.USACE.ARMY.MIL.

Again, welcome aboard to NRD Phoenix.  Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Selected by the Commanding Officer, your Ombudsman is a spouse of a member of the command who voluntarily serves as an official liaison between the command and its families. As a spouse, it's important to get acquainted with your local Ombudsman. The Ombudsman is not a counselor or a social worker, but can show you the direct route toward finding solutions by helping you get the assistance you need.
