Commander Christopher Kendrick, a native of New Orleans, graduated with the Class of 2000 from the U.S. Naval Academy. He received his Wings of Gold at Naval Air Station Whiting Field in February 2002.


After initial training in the H-60F/H, he reported to the Indians of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 6 in November 2002, where he served as the aircrew division officer, avionics & armament division officer, and quality assurance officer. While assigned to the Indians, he completed two deployments with Carrier Air Wing 11 aboard USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also deployed aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) during her maiden South American transit.


Following transition training to the MH-60S, he reported to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 2 in March 2006 for duty as an Instructor pilot, where he served as the MH-60S curriculum officer, Naval aviation production process officer, and NATOPS officer/instructor.

In June 2008, Commander Kendrick reported to USS Wasp (LHD 1) air department, where he served as the hangar deck officer, flight deck officer, aircraft handling officer, assistant air officer, and qualified as officer of the deck (Underway). While assigned to Wasp, he completed deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and U.S. Southern Command counter-narcotic operations.


He reported to the HSC-8 Eight ballers in November 2011, where he served as the admin officer, training officer, and maintenance officer. While assigned to the Eight Ballers, he completed two deployments with Carrier Air Wing 9 aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) in support of Operations New Dawn and Enduring Freedom.


In November 2013, he reported to U.S. Southern Command in Miami where he served as a current operations air officer and as the J3 Operations Directorate executive officer. In July 2017, he reported as the executive officer of Navy Recruiting District New York. Commander Kendrick has assumed the duties as commanding officer, Navy Recruiting District New York 22 March 2019.


Commander Kendrick has earned a master’s degree in military operational art and science from the Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, Alabama and is a graduate of the Joint & Combined Warfighting School in Norfolk, Virginia.


His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards. He has accumulated over 2,300 total flight hours, including over 2,000 hours in H-60 aircraft.
