Sara L. Drake

NCCM Sara L. Drake was born and raised in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She is a 1997 graduate of Penns Manor High School and enlisted into the United States Navy her senior year. She departed for Recruit Training Command on November 4, 1997.
NCCM Drake’s initial sea duty tour was onboard the USS Bonhomme Richard, located in San Diego, California, where she became a plank owner and served in the Main Propulsion department. Upon completion of her tour on the USS Bonhomme Richard, she transferred to the Main Propulsion department of the USS Boxer, also located in San Diego, California. Upon completion of her USS Boxer tour, Drake transferred into the United States Navy Reserve, where she served in the SurgeMain program.
While in the Navy Reserve, Drake submitted a conversion package to convert from machinist mate to navy counselor. She was selected for conversion and became a navy counselor in 2010. Upon selection, she transferred to Navy Recruiting District San Diego, where she served as a recruiter and leading petty officer. During this tour, she was awarded Region West Leading Petty Officer of the Year. Following her tour in San Diego, she transferred to Navy Recruiting District Chicago, where she earned her division leading chief petty officer qualification and was promoted to the rank of chief petty officer. Consequently, after her tour in San Diego, she received orders to Navy Recruiting District New York, where she served as a division leading chief petty officer and earned her assistant chief recruiter qualification. During this tour, she was promoted to the rank of senior chief petty officer. Following her tour in Navy Recruiting District New York, she transferred to Navy Talent Acquisition Group Miami serving as the Director of Personnel Operations. During this tour she was promoted to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
Currently she is serving as the Chief Recruiter for Navy Talent Acquisition Group New England.
Drake has been married twenty years, to her husband Ron Drake, who is also a Navy veteran. Together, they have three children: Ronald, 21; Steven, 16; and Jacob, 12.
