A native of Brooklyn, NY, however spent his childhood living in the Caribbean on the island of Trinidad & Tobago; Master Chief Wiltshire entered the Navy via St. Petersburg, FL in December 1997. He attended recruit training at Great Lakes Recruit Training Command and graduated in February 1998. Upon graduation, he immediately reported to Naval submarine school in Groton, CT where he completed basic enlisted submarine school and electronics technician “A” school graduating in September 1998.

 

In October 1998, Master Chief Wiltshire reported aboard USS Wyoming (SSBN 742) (Blue) homeported in Kings Bay, GA. While onboard, he completed eight strategic deterrent patrols, qualified quartermaster of the watch & chief of the watch and was command advanced to petty officer second class.

 

In August 2003, he reported to Naval Ordnance Test Unit in Port Canaveral, FL for shore duty. During this tour, he advanced to petty officer first class and qualified test instrumentation chief. In April 2008, he reported onboard PCU New Hampshire as the navigation division leading petty officer (LPO). During this tour, he advanced to chief petty officer, assumed duties as the navigation division leading chief petty officer (LCPO), qualified navigation supervisor and is a plank owner for the commissioning of USS New Hampshire.

 

In April 2009, he reported onboard USS Pittsburgh (SSN 720) as the navigation division LCPO. While onboard, he qualified contact coordinator & diving officer of the watch and certified as assistant navigator (ANAV) under Submarine Squadron Two. He completed a United States European Command deployment and a United States Central Command deployment.


In April 2013, he transferred to shore duty and reported to Naval submarine school where he was the submarine officer advance course (SOAC) ANAV instructor, prospective ANAV instructor and a pre-deployment training (PDT) evaluator. During this tour, he advanced to senior chief petty officer and qualified as chief of the boat (COB).


In April 2016, he reported onboard USS Providence (SSN 719) homeported in Portsmouth, NH for his next assignment relieving as COB. During this tour, he completed a pre-inactivation restricted availability (PIRA), a homeport shift to Groton, CT, a United States European Command deployment and advanced to master chief petty officer. Additionally, USS Providence was selected as the 2018 Squadron Twelve Battle “E” recipient.


In June 2019, he reported onboard Submarine Learning Center for his assignment as staff master chief. During this tour, he assumed the duties as acting command master chief for an extended period while the billet was gapped. During this tour, he was selected for advancement in the command senior enlisted leadership program as command master chief.

 

Master Chief Wiltshire’s personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eleven awards) and various other personal and unit awards. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 193 (Green) and the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course in 2016, additionally he holds an Associates degree in General studies.
