Command Master Chief Chapman, a native of St. Paul, Minnesota, enlisted in the Navy in April 1992. Following completion of basic training at RTC Great Lakes, IL, he attended AT "A" School at NATTC Millington, TN, and F/A-18 AVO ‘C’ school at NAMTRA NAS Lemoore, CA.
 
Upon graduation, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE TWO FIVE at NAS Lemoore, CA where he served as an F/A-18 plane captain and avionics technician. During his tour with VFA-125 he advanced to third class petty officer and completed numerous carrier and land based training detachments.
 
After detaching VFA-125 in March 1996, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron EIGHT TWO at NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL. During this tour, Master Chief Chapman advanced to second class petty officer, completed two deployments to the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf in support of operation SOUTHERN WATCH, and qualified enlisted aviation warfare specialist.
 
In May 2000, Master Chief Chapman reported to Naval Aviation Maintenance Training Unit NAS Lemoore, CA. He instructed curriculum for AVO "C" School, AN/AAS-38A/B/C FLIR, wire bundle/connector repair, and basic corrosion control. During this tour he advanced to first class petty officer and was designated as a master training specialist.
 
In 2002, he was selected for duty with the United States Navy Blue Angels where he served as an avionics technician and crew coordinator from April 2003 to March 2006.
 
His next assignment was as a recruit division commander at RTC Great Lakes, IL from April 2006 through July 2009. During this high profile Sailorization billet, Master Chief Chapman trained nine divisions, advanced to chief petty officer in 2007, and received the Distinguished Leadership Award.
 
In August 2009, Master Chief Chapman reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE FIVE ONE at NAS Lemoore, CA.  He served as maintenance control chief, line division leading chief petty officer, and quality assurance supervisor. He completed two “West-Pac” deployments in support of operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM, advanced to senior chief petty officer in 2011, and qualified enlisted surface warfare specialist.
 
In August 2013, he reported to Naval Support Activity Saratoga Springs, NY for duty as the installations first command senior chief and advanced to master chief petty officer in 2014.
 
 In September 2015 He reported to NRD Minneapolis as Command Master Chief.
 
Master Chief Chapman is the proud recipient of multiple unit, campaign, and service decorations.
