On July 07, 1999, NCCS Shaun Cabral enlisted in the United States Navy after graduating from Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, in Fall River, MA. He reported to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL, and upon graduation he reported to operations specialist "A’’ School at Fleet Combat Training Center Dam Neck, VA, immediately followed by an assignment to Naval Special Warfare Team 2 at Naval Station Little Creek, VA.

In August 2001, Senior Chief Cabral reported to Naval Station Roosevelt Roads Puerto Rico.  He was assigned to the security department and was attached to the Harbor Patrol detachment as a patrol boat coxswain. During this tour he received his Expeditionary Warfare Specialist qualification.
 
In 2003, he transferred to Navy Orientation Recruiting Unit in Pensacola, FL, to begin his career as a Navy recruiter. From December 2003 to present, he has been assigned to Navy Recruiting District New England, Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville, Navy Recruiting District Chicago, Navy Recruiting District San Diego, and Navy Recruiting District Michigan where he currently serves as the senior enlisted leader.

Senior Chief Cabral has earned his Associates Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College, and he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Sciences, from Oregon State University.
 
Senior Chief Cabral’s awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards), and various other unit and service awards.  In addition, he was selected as the Region North RINC of the Year and Region North Large Station of the Year for FY2005.   During his tour at NRD Jacksonville he was Zone of the Year, FY 2008, Zone Supervisor of the Year, FY 2009 and Division of the Year, FY 2010.
