spacerDelmy Robinson

 

Commander Delmy Robinson is originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras. She came to the United States in 1990 at the age of 13. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Cmdr. Robinson attended officer candidate school where she obtained her commission as an ensign in the supply corps in 1999.

Upon graduating from Navy Supply Corps School in 2000, she reported to her first assignment onboard the USS Harpers Ferry (LSD-49) in charge of the Disbursing and Sales Divisions.

During her tour, she completed a deployment to the Persian Gulf (WESTPAC) and earned her supply corps surface warfare pin.

In 2002, Robinson reported to Naval Medical Center, San Diego as the materials management department head and was concurrently attached to the USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) as the assistant supply department head.

In 2004, she transferred to the human resources community and reported to Millington, Tennessee as the Navy’s project officer for the common access card (CAC)/DEERS/RAPIDS Program. In 2006, she reported to the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute as the J-1 director for student and staff services.

In 2009, she reported to BUPERS-3 as the strategic communications officer, followed by a tour as the post board selection matters branch head (PERS-833) in charge of the Navy’s post-board matters for all statutory and administrative boards. In 2013, Commander Robinson reported to Navy Manpower Analysis Center as the workforce classification department head, responsible for the workforce classification of officers/enlisted, Navy-wide.

Cmdr. Robinson reported to Navy Recruiting District Miami in August 2016 and serves as the executive officer.

Robinson holds a Master of Arts degree in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College; a Master of Science in operations management from the University of Arkansas and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Southern University and is certified as a professional in human resources. She is a proven subspecialist in manpower systems analysis; education and training management; and resource management and analysis.

Commander Robinson’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards). National Civilian Awards include: The National Image Meritorious Service Award and the Latina In Style Leadership Award.
