Command Master Chief (SW/AW) Ricardo Moreyra, originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, entered the Navy in April 1991. After completing recruit training at Great Lakes, IL, he attended machinist mate “A” school.

His first assignment was a split tour, completing successful tours onboard both USS Iwo Jima (LPH 2) and USS Enterprise (CVN 65). Onboard USS Iwo Jima (LPH 2) he completed a deployment to the Mediterranean and Adriatic Sea and then assisted in the decommissioning in 1993. He continued sea duty onboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65) where he completed a deployment in support of operation SOUTHERN WATCH and advanced to second class petty officer.

In September 1996, he transferred to shore duty for a brief tour at Surface Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) Norfolk, VA before heading back to sea.

In September 1999, he attended the oxygen and nitrogen (O2N2) school en-route to the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) where he deployed in support of operations DELIBERATE FORGE, SOUTHERN WATCH and ENDURING FREEDOM. During this tour, he earned both enlisted surface (ESWS) and enlisted air warfare specialist (EAWS) along with other qualifications and advanced to first class petty officer.

Command Master Chief Moreyra’s next assignment was to the Center of Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Cherry Point, N.C., as corporate enterprise training activity resources system (CETARS) administrator. There he was selected for chief petty officer (CPO).

He completed a follow-on tour at Naval Support Activity (NSA) La Madallena, Italy, where he was instrumental in the successful BRAC closure of the base.

In January 2008, he reported to the USS George Washington (CVN-73), as it conducted a homeport change to Yokosuka, Japan to serve as the forward deployed carrier. He made three West PAC deployments and served as the engineering auxiliary (EA) division leading chief petty officer (DLCPO).  
After his successful tour onboard, he was assigned back to CNATT, where he picked up senior chief petty officer (SCPO). He served as the senior enlisted advisor (SEA) and the cryogenics school supervisor. While there, he earned his master training specialist (MTS).

In February 2014, he graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy (SEA) and reported to Commander Amphibious Squadron Six (CPR6) where he served as the senior enlisted advisor (SEA. Shortly thereafter, he was selected for master chief petty officer (MCPO). In August 2014 he successfully completed the command master chief course (CMC/COB). In February 2016 he was selected for the command master chief program and in May 2016 reported to Navy Recruiting District Miami.

Command Master Chief Moreyra earned his bachelors in human resources and masters in business administration from Park University. He has been awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (7 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2 awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
