Commander M. Juanique Wallace, from Albany, GA, enlisted as a fireman recruit in April 1991. After attending electrician’s mate “A” school at Naval Training Station, Great Lakes, Ill, she was meritoriously promoted to EM3 onboard AFDM 7 Sustain in 1993. In 1995, while onboard USS L.Y. Spear (AS 36), she was selected for the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection Training (BOOST) program in Newport, RI. She conferred a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida A&M University and received her commission in the surface warfare community in 2000. In 2007, she conferred a Master of Science in Operation Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Her job assignments and duty stations as a surface warfare officer include administrative officer in Commander, Destroyer Squadron 14, Assistant DCA and SWOS training officer in USS Philippine Sea (CG 58), and training officer in USS Doyle (FFG 39). She was laterally transferred into the human resources community in November 2004.
In April 2007, she reported to Navy Recruiting District, St. Louis, MO as an Officer Recruiter and Officer Programs Officer (OPO) and later assigned to the distribution management, statistics and allocation division (PERS 45) in Navy Personnel Command, Millington, TN from May 2011 to January 2013.
After her tour ended in February 2015 from the Office of Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV N10) as an MPTE program analyst, she served as the operation analysis division director at headquarters, Navy Recruiting Command until March 2017. She is currently the executive officer in Navy Recruiting District, Jacksonville, FL.
Cmdr. Wallace’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five), and various other unit citations. She received and maintains currency in her Professional Human Resource Certification and is a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM/CP). She is in the dissertation phase of her Doctorate in Organization and Management specializing in Human Resource Management from Capella University.
