Commander Brandon Kaser, a native of Crawfordsville, Indiana, is a graduate of Purdue University and received his commission though officer candidate school in Pensacola, Fla., in September 1998.
 

He was designated a Naval Aviator in June 2000 and received orders to the "Grim Reapers" of VF-101 at Naval Air Station Oceana for F-14 Tomcat training. His first fleet assignment was the "Swordsmen" of VF-32 aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). He deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM in December 2002.

 

In April 2004, he reported to the "Flying Eagles" of VFA-122 as and F/A-18 E/F flight instructor.

 

In May 2007, he reported to Carrier Air Wing THREE as the strike operations officer. He deployed aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in support of operation IRAQI FREEDOM in November 2007.
 
In November 2009, Cmdr. Kaser reported to the "Red Rippers" of VFA-11 as a department head and served as the administrative officer, operations officer and maintenance officer. He deployed twice aboard USS Enterprise (CVN 65) in support of operation ENDURING FREEDOM and operation NEW DAWN in January 2011, and again in March 2012.
 
In June 2012, he reported to the US Naval War College where he earned his master of arts degree in strategic studies.
 
In July 2013, Cmdr. Kaser reported to Alaskan Command / Joint Task Force Alaska (ALCOM / JTF-AK) for his joint tour where he served in plans and policy, J5, as the Arctic and maritime planner.
 
hhh. Kaser served as the Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville executive officer from September 2015 and assumed command in March 2017.
 
Cmdr. Kaser has accumulated over 2400 flight hours and 550 arrested landings. His personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three Air Medals, four Navy Commendation Medals with one individual with Combat "V", the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and numerous campaign and unit awards.
