Commander Brock A. Miller is originally from Vacherie, LA. He graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and commissioned from its NROTC program in 1997. His initial sea tours were USS Cleveland (LPD 7) and USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), where he completed combat deployments to 5th Fleet on each ship. After his division officer tours, he was assigned as the junior officer instructor at Southern University/LSU NROTC in July 2001.

During the summer of 2003, he transitioned to the Navy's Reserve Force and was assigned as the training officer of MSC EPU-119. He also accepted a civilian position as a system test engineer for the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Corona, CA. As a drilling reservist, he was recalled as the Navy Operational Support Center Moreno Valley’s executive officer and later redesignated to the Navy’s full time support program. His follow-on tour was as the director of training at the Navy Reserve Professional Development Center New Orleans, LA in July 2007; where he was also designated as a human resources officer. October 2009 to April 2012, he served as the training department head onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). From May 2012 to June 2014, he had the honor of serving as the Commanding Officer of Navy Operational Support Center Quincy, MA. In his most recent assignment, he served as the division director for the Individual Ready Reserve – Active Status Pool (IRR-ASP) PERS-93 and the Reserve Personnel Management Functional Integration Division PERS-94 from July 2014 to October 2016.

Commander Miller holds a Masters of business administration from the University of Phoenix and his awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, the Navy Commendation Medal with 2 stars, the Navy Achievement Medal with 1 star, the Navy Battle Efficiency Award with wreath E and numerous other campaign awards.
