Commander Green was born in Lakeland, Fla. She graduated from Lake Wales Senior High School, Lake Wales, Fla. in 1993. She earned her bachelor degree in political science at Florida State University, December 2001. She completed a masters of business administration in human resources at UOP, December 2007 and a masters in human systems integration at Naval Postgraduate School, December 2010.

 

Cmdr. Green enlisted as a seaman recruit in 1993. After completing basic training and apprenticeship training school, her first assignment was aboard USS Merrimack (AO 179), Norfolk, Va. from 1993-1998. While there, she obtained her enlisted surface warfare pin as a seaman, obtained the rank of yeoman second class, and qualified as a master helmsman. Aboard USS Merrimack, she completed two Mediterranean deployments.
 
Green’s next assignment was in command, control, communications and computer systems directorate (J6), U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), MacDill Air Force Base from 1998-2000. During her time at CENTCOM, she was CENTCOM’s Junior Sailor of the Year and selected for the enlisted commissioning program.
 
As an officer, Cmdr. Green’s first assignment was as the main propulsion officer aboard USS Carney (DDG 64) through 2003. There she completed a Mediterranean Gulf deployment and earned her surface warfare designation, officer of the deck, and engineering officer of the watch qualifications. Upon completion of her tour on USS Carney, Cmdr. Green was assigned as the training officer, information warfare officer, and administration officer on USS Doyle (FFG 36) in Mayport, Fla. through 2005. There she completed a counter drug operations deployment and subsequently was hand-selected to serve aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) as the combat information center watch officer for Destroyer Group Twenty-Four during joint task force exercises.
 
Following FFG 36, she was assigned as a Navy officer recruiter for Navy Recruiting District Jacksonville from 2005 through 2007. From 2008 to 2010, while at Naval Postgraduate School (NPS), she obtained a master of science in human systems integration, completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I, and certified as a professional in human resources (PHR). Following NPS, she was assigned as the recruiting operations officer (Enlisted programs officer/officer programs officer) for Navy Recruiting District Atlanta, 2010-2013.
 
From 2013-2015, she served as the executive officer of Navy Region Southwest Transient Personnel Unit, San Diego, Calif. In Cmdr. Green's last assignment, she served as the augmentations deputy section head in Global Force Management Branch (OPNAV N312) on the Chief of Naval Operations Staff, 2015-2017. Currently, she is serving as Navy Recruiting District Atlanta commanding officer, Smyrna, Ga.
 
Her military awards and decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal,  Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (third award), Joint Service Achievement Medal (third award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (fourth award), and various other unit and service awards.
