Command Master Chief Eddie L. Knight enlisted in the Navy in July, 1986 under the delayed entry program. He completed basic training at Great Lakes, Ill., basic enlisted aviation machinist's mate "A" school in Millington, Tenn.and TF-34 complete engine repair "C" school at Naval Air Station (NAS), North Island, Calif.
 
His sea duties include a deployment aboard USS Independence (CV 62) as a member of the sea operational detachment from NAS Cecil Field, a combat cruise on USS Saratoga (CV 60) in support of operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, a surge deployment aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) in response to Sept. 11, 2001, supporting operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom; an assignment aboard USS Peleliu (LHA 5) asthe AIMD's departmental leading chief petty officer and interim command master chief and a command master chief (CMC) tour aboard USS Dubuque (LPD 8).
 
His shore assignments include NAS Cecil Field's Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department (AIMD), NAS Sigonella, Sicily, where he was assigned to the T-56 engine repair work center and later the test cell operator. Naval Aviation Depot, Jacksonville as leading petty officer for the TF-34 first degree complete engine repair work center, military liason, AIMD power plants production control LPO and power plants quality assurance representative. He was also assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron Nine (VX 9), at China Lake, as the maintenance control senior chief petty officer and quality assurance supervisor/acting CMC and Navy Recruiting District, Miami, CMC.
 
He served as the staff CMC at U.S. Naval Forces, Central Command and is presently assigned as force master chief of NRC, Millington, Tenn.
 
He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class #117), CMC/COB (Class #48) and the National Defense University's Keystone Joint Senior Enlisted Course.
 
His personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), Good Conduct Medals (six awards), and numerous other campaign service medals and ribbons.
