 Program History
The Navy has been using nuclear power to drive ships for over 40 years.  Much of the success of the program was due to the "father" of nuclear power in the Navy, Admiral Hyman G. Rickover.
 Roles of the Nuclear Navy
Aircraft carriers and submarines have both separate and complementary missions.  Both are vital to the National Defense of the USA.
