Commander Todd Braynard

Commander Braynard
is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in
1984 and served in the Submarine Force for eight years as a
Machinist’s Mate in the Nuclear Propulsion Program. He earned a
Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New
York in 1991 and received his commission upon graduation from
Officer Candidate School in 1992.
Commander
Braynard’s sea duty assignments include USS MILWAUKEE (AOR 2) as
Auxiliaries, Electrical and Liquid Cargo Officer; the commissioning
crew of USS RAMAGE (DDG 61) as Auxiliaries Officer and Navigator;
USS GONZALEZ (DDG 66) as Engineering Officer; and COMDESRON TWO as
the staff Material Officer (N4). He commanded MHC CREW DETECTOR
embarked in USS KINGFISHER (MHC 56) and USS RAVEN (MHC 61) from June
2005 through April 2007.
Shore tours include
Flag Assistant to Commander, Naval Surface Reserve Force in New
Orleans, LA; Future Operations Planner at Joint Interagency Task
Force South in Key West, FL; and Chief of Staff for Commander,
Destroyer Squadron Fourteen and FFG Class Squadron in Mayport, FL.
He assumed duties as Executive Officer of Naval Recruiting District
Miami in August 2008.
