information about the Commander, Navy Recruiting Command. It is
provided as a public service by the Commander, Navy Recruiting
Command. The purpose of this Web site is to provide information
about the Commander, Navy Recruiting Command to the general
public. All information on this site is considered public
information and may be distributed or copied unless otherwise
specified. Use of appropriate byline/photo/image credits is
requested.
Unauthorized attempts to upload information or
change information on this web site are strictly prohibited and
may be punishable under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act of 1986
and the National Information Infrastructure Protection Act.
For site security purposes and to ensure that this service
remains available to all users, this government computer system
employs software programs to monitor network traffic to identify
unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or
otherwise cause damage.
Except for authorized law enforcement investigation and to
maintain required correspondence files, no other attempts are
made to identify individual users or their usage habits. Raw
data logs are used to simply determine how many users are
accessing the site, which pages are the most popular, and, from
time to time, from which top level domain users are coming. This
data is scheduled for regular destruction in accordance with
National Archives and Records Administration guidelines.
The Navy's official Web site does not use any cookies, i.e.,
tokens that pass information back and forth from your machine to
the server and remain after you close your browser (persistent
cookies) or session cookies, i.e., tokens that remain active
only until you close your browser, in order to (make the site
easier for you to use).
The Freedom of
Information Act (FOIA), 5 United States Code 552, allows you to
obtain information from various agencies of the federal
government, including the Department of the Navy. FOIA is
implemented by the Navy, in Secretary of the Navy Instruction
5720.42F, Department of the Navy Freedom of Information Act
Program (SECNAVINST 5720.42F).
Navy Recruiting Command recruits men and women for enlisted,
officer candidate, and officer status in the regular and reserve
components of the United States Navy. We prepare for the
Secretary of the Navy the documents required for original
appointment to warrant and commissioned ranks.

Label your request “Freedom of Information Act Request” on the
envelope (if you submit by mail). Describe the specific record(s)
you are seeking with enough detail so that a knowledgeable
official of the activity may locate the record with a reasonable
amount of effort. Such detail should include descriptive
information, time frame to search, etc.
State your willingness to pay all fees or those up to a specific
amount or provide justification to support a fee waiver.
Agreements to pay fees are considered to be up to $250.00,
unless another amount is specified.
