NCCM(SS) Jimmie A. Holt, Jr.


Master Chief Jimmie A. Holt, Jr. is assigned as Navy Recruiting Command's National Chief Recruiter, Naval Support Activity Midsouth, Millington, Tenn.


Holt was born and raised in St. James, Mo., and graduated from John F. Hodge High School in 1986. In June 1986, he enlisted in the Navy. He attended Recruit Training Center in San Diego, Calif. He then reported to Groton, Conn., where he attended and graduated from Submarine School, Submarine Electronic Technical Training, RM "A" school, Submarine Special Communications School, & Crypto Tech School. He was then assigned to the Trident Fleet in Bangor, Wash.


Holtís first permanent assignment was to the USS Michigan (SSBN 727) in Bangor, where he served as Radio Supervisor and Primary Special Communications Technician. In February of 1990, he was assigned to ComSubGru-9 where he served on the CAT (Communications Assistance Team). In October of 1990, he reported back to Michigan where he served as LPO and qualified and served as the Chief of the Watch.


In November 1992, Holt reported to ENRO in Pensacola, Fla., for recruiting school for his assignment to NRD St. Louis. In February 1993, he reported to NRS Rolla, Mo. In April 1994, he was assigned as Recruiter in Charge of NRS Rolla.


In March 1995, he was selected and attended the CRF Academy. He led three zones within NRD St. Louis and NRD Memphis complying with a mandated reconfiguration.


In February 1999, he reported to NORU for instructor duty where he taught ENRO and was selected to the National Training Team. In February of 2000, Holt was selected to become the CRF Academy Course Manager. In April of 2001, he was selected as the Senior Trainer and Senior Field Inspector for the NTT and IG teams respectfully.


In February 2002, he was selected to become the Chief Recruiter of NRD Houston. His second tour as a Chief Recruiter was in NRD Montgomery. In July 2005, Holt served as Career Recruiting Force Community Manager. In April 2008, he was selected and served as Region Eastís Chief Recruiter. In January 2011 he was selected and currently serves as the National Chief Recruiter for Navy Recruiting Command.


Holtís decorations include Submarine Warfare Device, Ballistic Missile Deployment pin with six bronze stars and is authorized to wear the Meritorious Service Medal (two gold stars), Navy Commendation Medal (three gold stars), Navy Achievement Medal (five gold stars), Meritorious Unit Commendation (five bronze stars), Navy Good Conduct Medal (six bronze stars), National Defense Service Medal (one bronze star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon (one silver star) and 56 Recruiting Gold Wreaths.
