NCCM(SS) Jimmie A. Holt, Jr.

 

   Master Chief Jimmie A. Holt, Jr., is assigned as Navy Recruiting Command's National Chief Recruiter, Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, Tennessee.

   In June 1986, he enlisted in the Navy and attended Recruit Training Command, San Diego, Calif.  He then reported to Groton, Conn., where he attended and graduated from Submarine School, Submarine Electronic Technical Training, RM "A" School, Submarine Special Communications School, and Crypto Tech School.  He was then assigned to the Trident Fleet in Bangor, Wash.

   Holtís first permanent assignment was to USS Michigan (SSBN 727) in Bangor, where he served as Radio Supervisor and Primary Special Communications Technician.  In February of 1990, he was assigned to Commander, Submarine Group 9 where he served on the Communications Assistance Team.  He then reported back to Michigan where he served as Leading Petty Officer and qualified and served as the Chief of the Watch.

   In November 1992, Holt first joined the Navy Recruiting Team at Enlisted Navy Recruiter Orientation (ENRO) in Pensacola, Fla.  After school, he reported to Navy Recruiting Station Rolla, Mo., in February of 1993 and became Recruiter in Charge in April 1994.

   Wanting to commit his career to recruiting, he applied to and was selected for the Career Recruiting Force Academy in March 1995.  After the academy, he led three zones within Navy Recruiting District (NRD) St. Louis and NRD Memphis.

   In February 1999, he reported to Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit (NORU) for instructor duty where he taught ENRO and was selected to the National Training Team (NTT).  In February 2000, Holt was selected to become the CRF Academy Course Manager.  He also became the Senior Trainer and Senior Field Inspector for the NTT and Inspector General teams respectfully while at NORU.

   He was selected to become the Chief Recruiter of NRD Houston in February 2002.  His second tour as a Chief Recruiter was in NRD Montgomery, and in July 2005, Holt served as Career Recruiting Force Community Manpower Manager.  He served as Region Eastís Chief Recruiter from April 2008-January 2011.  He then was selected for and currently serves as the National Chief Recruiter for Navy Recruiting Command.

   Holtís decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon (six awards), 72 Recruiting Gold Wreaths and various service and campaign awards.  He is also entitled to wear the Enlisted Submarine Warfare Device, Ballistic Missile Deployment pin with six bronze stars.
