Commander Lacey Popson commissioned in 2004 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. At sea, Commander Popson served as the Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer,
 

Communications Officer, and Navigator aboard USS PAUL HAMILTON (DDG 60). Ashore, she served as Fleet Synthetic Training Officer for Tactical Training Group Pacific. In 2009, she laterally

transferred to the Human Resources (HR) Community and served as the Operations Officer at Navy Operational Support Center, San Diego. Her subsequent HR tours included Assistant Force

Personnel Officer (N13B) at Commander Naval Air Forces, Head Total Force Manpower Analyst (OPNAV N120) at Chief of Naval Personnel, and Deputy Executive Assistant to the Assistant

Deputy Chief of Naval Operations, Manpower, Personnel, Training, and Education (OPNAV N1B). From 2014 – 2017, she was selected to serve as Protocol Officer and Aide de Camp to the Secretary

of the Navy.
 

Commander Popson proceeded to OPNAV N1 where she served as the Director, Results Delivery Office in Enterprise Support on the staff of Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (Manpower,

Personnel, Training, and Education) / Chief of Naval Personnel. In 2019, she returned to the Pentagon as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Digital Transformation Officer (OPNAV N09D).

She is a 2020 Joint Professional Military Education, Phase II graduate and currently serves as Operations, Plans, and Readiness Branch Officer at United States Indo-Pacific Command

(USINDOPACOM J113). She has earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Studies in Political Management from The George Washington University, as well as the Professional in Human Resources certification

from the HR Certification Institute. She has been selected for Commander Milestone and Command.
