Command Master Chief McKenzie is a native of St Mary, Jamaica. He assumed the duties as Senior Enlisted Leader of Navy Talent and Acquisition Group Miami, 23 July 2021. In May 2001, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Chicago, Illinois, he reported for “A” School at the Naval Technical Training Center Pensacola, Florida. Upon completion of Aviation Mechanic technical training, Airman McKenzie reported to his first duty station Patrol Squadron Five (VP-5), Jacksonville, Florida, in October 2001.

In May 2001, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Chicago, Illinois, he reported for “A” School at the Naval Technical Training Center Pensacola, Florida. Upon completion of Aviation Mechanic technical training, Airman McKenzie reported to his first duty station Patrol Squadron Five (VP-5), Jacksonville, Florida, in October 2001.

 

February 2006 Petty Officer Second Class McKenzie reported for Non-destructive Inspection (NDI) “C“ School Pensacola, Fl. After Graduation, he was assigned to Fleet Readiness Center South East (FRSCE), formerly Aircraft Intermediate Detachment (AIMD) Jacksonville, Fl. Soon after reporting to FRCSE in June 2006, he was promoted to First Class Petty Officer (PO1). As the Airframe’s Department Leading Petty Officer (LPO), he was responsible for the supervision and production effort across seven work centers and provided material support to maritime and carrier-based aircraft.

 

December 2009 PO1 McKenzie reported to AIMD Bahrain. Assigned duties include NDI Technician, Airframe’s LPO, Quality Assurance Representative, and Quality Assurance Officer. During his tenure, he provided intermediate-level maintenance and technical support to squadron and detachments forward-deployed to the U.S. 5th FLEET AOR. While stationed at AIMD Bahrain, he was promoted to Chief Petty Officer (CPO) FY-12. February 2012 CPO McKenzie joined the “I love IKE” team onboard the USS Dwight D Eisenhower (CVN69). Primary duties include Airframe’s Branch CPO, Airframe’s Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO).

 

March 2015, he PCS to COMFAIRFORWARD Atsugi, Japan, to join the maintenance team. That same year he was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer. He served in the capacity of Department LCPO, MPA inspector, ISIC NDI specialist/ program manager, and Airframe’s class desk.

 

From March 2018 to April 2020, he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader onboard NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center Bahrain.

May 2020 to July 2021, he served as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader onboard Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 102 “Diamondbacks.”

 

He was selected into the Command Senior Chief/Command Master Chief Program FY-17. He is a graduate of the Holmwood Technical High School Manchester, Jamaica. He holds a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and a Bachelor’s in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the CMC/COB Course.

 

CMDCM McKenzie is designated an Air and Surface Warfare Specialist. Personal decorations include a Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (eight awards), various unit and campaign awards.
